Cast Iron Saarinen Tulip Table w/ 54" Marble Top *SOLD*
Eero Saarinen resolved the "ugly, confusing, unrestful world" underneath tables and chairs with the timeless look of the pedestal, often referred to as tulip, collection.
Specifications:
- Comfortable sits 6 guests (8 if you pinch)
- Original 54" Marb;e Tabletop features beveled edge
- Top can be removed for easy transport.
- Early production 1950's cast iron base is rock solid and could be powder coated if desired.
Condition: Structurally solid. Expected signs of use for being one of the first produced tulip tables, chips to paint on base and scuffs/chips to marble edge. If you were so inclined, you could easily have the marble refinished and the chips grinded/sanded away, but that would do this vintage piece an injustice. Patina is part of the mid century asthetic.
