Set of Six First Edition Tulip Chairs by Eero Saarinen for Knoll (PENDING)
Featured here is a set of six Knoll Associates Eero Saarinen White Tulip Based Chairs with Swivel.
They all retain their original Knoll Associates label which dates them prior to 1968, and they are made of Cast Iron, which is how they were first produced in the 50's before they changed to cast aluminum. The chairs are very heavy and rock solid. They swivel easily and the shells and pedestal bases have very few imperfections. Much better than the chipping and wear on most vintage tulip chairs.
The original tangerine velvet upholstery is worn and the foam has dehydrated so reupholstering is recommended and would make them show as though they were brand new, but would retain their value like vintage chairs do.
